Also known as the ""Gunrunners"", the squadron is based at Marine Corps Air Station New River, North Carolina. The squadron also provides offensive air support, utility support, armed escort, and airborne supporting arms coordination during Naval Expeditionary Operations or Joint Combined Operations.
